Antalya Golden Orange awards Iranian actor Pejman Jamshidi

The Antalya Golden Orange filmfest in Turkey awards Iranian actor Pejman Jamshidi.

The Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival in Turkey has awarded Iranian actor Pejman Jamshidi.

Jamshidi was selected as the best actor at the 59th edition of the Turkish festival for his performance in the Iranian movie ‘Grassland’.

Produced by Bahram Radan and directed by Kazem Daneshi, the movie is about a young man seriously entangled in a criminal case.

The man used to be a drug addict, but now he has quit and started a new life with his wife.

But his partner in the addiction returns to his life after ten years; while she is still addicted.

In addition to Jamshidi, the cast list of ‘Grassland’ includes Sara Bahrami, Setareh Pesyani, Tarlan Parvaneh, Sirous Hemmati, Hossein Valizadeh, Matin Heydarinia, Farshad Mojarrab, Farrokh Nemati, Yasna Mirtahmasb, Roya Javidnia, and Maedeh Tahmasbi.

Introduced by the festival with a view to making a tangible contribution to Turkish cinema, the Antalya Film Forum has transformed Antalya into a hub of the national film industry, providing support to large numbers of young and independent filmmakers.

The event is comprised of four different platforms: Fiction Pitching, Fiction Work in Progress, Documentary Work in Progress and the Sümer Tilmaç Antalya Film Support Fund.

The 59th edition of the event was held on October 1-8, 2022.
